Board of Directors

Today, YE is led by a board of directors of young professionals and has greatly expanded its original mission.  YE has created a series of dynamic avenues to engage its entire membership and to actively impact the community as a whole.

Chris Day
President

Chris Day, a financial advisor at UBS, serves as President of Austin Young Execs.  After moving to Austin in the summer of 2007 Chris joined Young Execs to help meet new friends and make quality contacts.  Outside of work he likes staying in tune with the Texas Country music scene and being active in Austin including Triathlon, running races, rock-climbing and of course an occasional Kickball league.


Mark Harrington
Treasurer

Mark Harrington, the Business Development Manager at SpawGlass Contractors, also serves as the treasurer for Austin Young Executives.  Born in the New England area, he came to Austin about three and half years ago via San Antonio and Dallas, and is now calling Austin home. 
In addition to his work life, Mark enjoys the outdoors, running races and staying in touch with all that Austin offers. Since joining Young Executives he has enhanced his business contacts, and looks forward to meeting more professionals in the year to come.


Durel Bernard
Community Engagement

Durel is the Development Manager for Goodwill Industries of Central Texas, where his work includes fundraising and volunteer management.  Prior to joining Goodwill, he was the program manager for United Way’s Young Leaders Society.
Durel is a graduate of The Catholic University of America in Washington DC, where he earned his degree in Media Studies.  He is a New Orleans native but now considers Austin home.  He and his wife, Heather, have a home in South Austin with their two dogs, Pablo and Lucy.


Amy Monette
Programs

In November 2008, Amy moved to Austin to be an Account Manager at Move Solutions, Ltd. a commercial relocation company. She graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with her bachelor’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing.
She has served as Director of Special Events for the Dallas Junior Chamber of Commerce in previous years and has been a Wish Granter for the Make-a-Wish Foundation since 2000. Amy enjoys being outdoors, listening to live music and meeting new faces.


Rich Myers
Wellness

Rich Myers, a sales engineer with General Electric, serves as Wellness Chair for Young Execs of Austin.  Rich joined Young Execs shortly after moving to Austin in the fall of 2007 to meet new people, establish business relationships, and to acclimate to a new city.  In his spare time Rich enjoys spending time outdoors fly fishing, camping, running, and cycling.

Anthony Choueifati
Council

In 2006, Anthony Choueifati started The Choueifati Law Firm, PLLC with the goal of providing affordable quality legal services for both for-profit and non-profit companies in and around Austin, Texas. Anthony joined Young Execs in 2007 in order to meet new people and business contacts in a quality networking environment. When not at work, Anthony enjoys sailing, softball, live music and giving back to the community.
